We are delighted to announce that Waveney River Centre’s marina has successfully achieved the highly regarded Quality Accredited Boatyard (QAB) status. This significant milestone follows a detailed and independent assessment carried out as part of our preparations to expand our boat hire operations on the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads. The QAB accreditation is awarded through a nationally recognised scheme run by British Marine in partnership with VisitEngland and is a true mark of quality and professionalism within the marine industry.

The QAB scheme was developed to raise standards across the boating sector, particularly for boatyards offering hire services. Achieving this status demonstrates our ongoing commitment to excellence in every aspect of our marina’s operations. To be granted QAB accreditation, a boatyard must undergo a thorough audit that assesses performance in several key areas, including:

• Customer Service Excellence – Providing consistently high-quality support and information throughout the customer journey.
• Operational Best Practices – Maintaining smooth, efficient systems for day-to-day operations, vessel maintenance, and client communication.
• Safety and Compliance – Meeting and exceeding required legal and safety standards, ensuring the well-being of both customers and staff.
• Environmental Responsibility – Minimising environmental impact through sustainable practices and responsible site management.

Beyond its exemplary marina, Waveney River Centre is home to a range of outstanding facilities that make it a true destination for leisure and relaxation. The site hosts East Coast Boat Building Services, a well-known and respected marine service provider specialising in all aspects of boat building, repairs, and marine engineering. Their presence ensures that vessels are kept in top condition, adding another layer of reliability and professionalism to our marina’s offering.

Our onsite Tingdene Lifestyle holiday park offers beautiful holiday homes nestled within the tranquil and scenic surroundings of the Broads. Surrounded by natural beauty and waterways, it’s an idyllic place to unwind and enjoy the peaceful charm of the area. The site also features dedicated areas for camping and touring, providing guests with access to premium on-site amenities, as well as a pub and restaurant ‘The Waveney Inn and Hotel’, offering traditional dishes using local produce and an alternative accommodation option on the Broads.

Adding to the appeal, Carlton Marshes, one of the east coast’s most celebrated wildlife reserves – lies just beyond the doorstep. From here, nature lovers can explore footpaths leading to Tingdene’s Broadlands Marina, taking in one of the region’s richest areas for spotting native flora and fauna.
