Camping Returns to Waveney River Centre

We are delighted to announce that Waveney River Centre will be bringing back tent pitches this spring. Situated along the beautiful River Waveney in Burgh St Peter, near Beccles, this popular Norfolk holiday site and marina will once again offer tent camping from March 2025, following requests for this popular offering to return from guests.

As explained by Assistant Manager Charlotte Knights, “The pitch locations were not operating as efficiently as they could have been for both campers and site operations, so in 2023, we made the decision to temporarily halt the provision of the pitches onsite.” This change enabled the team to simplify operations, with a view to start from scratch to be able to offer the best service possible for holiday makers and regular campers when possible. Charlotte continues, “We were taken back by the popularity of this service, so are thrilled to have reopened 14 tent pitches this spring and get campers back to Waveney River Centre once again.” Each pitch measures 9 metres by 8 metres and are equipped with a 16 amp electric hook-up, to enable guests to enjoy all the home comforts needed for a great camping holiday.

This wonderful part of the east coast, neighboured by Carlton Marshes and the site’s tranquil marina, offers spectacular views and experiences of rustic Broads, and truly gives the feeling of escape and relaxation both on land and afloat to anyone staying or passing through.

Onsite pub and restaurant ‘The Waveney Inn’ provides home-cooked British classics is the perfect place to feed the family, and the indoor swimming facility and play park will keep the little ones busy without the need to travel. A walk around the park or marina is also a must, where you can spot local wildlife hidden within the green backdrops of the site.

Since Tingdene took ownership of Waveney River Centre in 2021, we’ve worked hard to enhance the guest experience, improving our onsite facilities for berth holders, holiday homeowners, holiday makers and visitors. The return of tent pitches is just another step in meeting the needs of our visitors, and we’re pleased to see a great response, with many bookings already made.

We’re looking forward to welcoming more guests to enjoy the stunning surroundings and the fantastic outdoor experience Waveney River Centre has to offer this summer.
