Boat Details

‘Treble Reel’ is a rare Sea Otter 38’ x 8’ 6” Mid-Beam Widebeam, believed to be one of only four built. Her 8’ 6” beam makes great use of the additional width, providing comfortable accommodation while retaining the manoeuvrability of a Narrowboat. Designed with a forward layout, ‘Treble Reel’ offers well-planned accommodation throughout. The master cabin is positioned aft and features a fixed double berth with generous storage. The bathroom includes a pump-out toilet and large shower enclosure, while the port-side galley is positioned opposite a Pullman-style dinette. The saloon is found forward, providing a comfortable living area. Propulsion is provided by a Nanni 38hp four-cylinder diesel engine. Cabin heating is supplied by a Trumatic blown-air heating system, with warm-air ducts throughout the cabin. Hot water is provided via the engine calorifier, with a 240V immersion heater available when connected to shore power. Both 12V and 240V electrical systems are installed onboard. ‘Treble Reel’ is best suited for river and broad canal cruising, ideal for weekends away, extended cruising, or those seeking the benefits of Sea Otter’s renowned aluminium construction. Available to view at Pyrford Marina. To arrange a viewing, please contact the team on 01932 343275.

Interior Arrangements

Cockpit

The larger cruiser stern cockpit provides a comfortable and versatile space for navigating, relaxing and entertaining. There is ample room for deck chairs and alfresco dining. A full cockpit canopy provides protection from the elements and allows the space to be used in a wider range of weather conditions.

Master Cabin

Entering the boat from the stern deck leads into the comfortable master cabin. A fixed extended double berth, measuring approximately 73” x 52”, is positioned to starboard, with reading spotlights above and a storage locker beneath the bed.

At the foot of the berth is a high-level cupboard with a useful shelf, providing a convenient position for a small television. Opposite the bed is a good-sized cupboard with shelving and a separate wardrobe, offering plenty of space for clothing and personal belongings.

Bathroom

The spacious bathroom is fitted with a macerator electric toilet, hand basin set within a vanity unit and a large shower cubicle. The generous shower enclosure and practical arrangement provide a comfortable bathroom space for longer periods aboard.

Galley

The galley runs along the port side and provides a good amount of preparation and storage space. Moulded resin worktops are complemented by a high-level corner cupboard and generous cupboard storage beneath.

A stainless-steel sink with single-lever mixer tap is fitted into the worktop. Cooking facilities are provided by a freestanding gas cooker with four hobs, grill and oven, with additional storage beneath for pots and pans. A 12V Shoreline fridge with icebox provides refrigerated storage.

Pullman-Style Dinette

Opposite the galley is the Pullman-style dinette, with forward- and aft-facing seating. This provides a practical dining area while also offering additional accommodation when required.

The dinette easily converts into a double berth, with a clever folding panel providing extra length to the bed. Both seats incorporate useful storage beneath, making good use of the available space.

Saloon

The forward saloon provides a comfortable living area with a bench seat positioned to port, incorporating storage beneath and offering the option of use as a single berth.

Opposite is a corner cupboard with provision for mounting a television. Double doors at the bow open onto the spacious well deck, providing a natural connection between the interior and exterior spaces and making this a pleasant area for relaxing and socialising after a day’s cruising.
