Juniper, a 56ft three-berth Narrowboat built in 1996 by Colecraft Engineering Ltd. Designed with a practical forward layout, this well-proportioned vessel offers comfortable accommodation ideal for family cruising, extended holidays afloat, or as a liveaboard. Entering from the stern, the accommodation comprises a guest cabin with a single berth, a bathroom featuring a bath and pump-out toilet, a master cabin with a fixed double berth, a well-equipped U-shaped galley, and a bright saloon forward with direct access onto the bow well deck. Propulsion is provided by a Beta Marine 43hp four-cylinder diesel engine, coupled to a PRM 260D2 gearbox. Cabin heating is supplied via a Webasto diesel-fired central heating system feeding radiators throughout the boat, while hot water is provided by an engine calorifier and the central heating system. Both 12V and 240V electrical systems are installed, offering the conveniences expected for comfortable cruising. Previously operated as a hire boat, Juniper benefits from a versatile and thoughtfully arranged interior that provides generous living space. At 56ft, she is widely regarded as being at the “go anywhere” length, offering access to the vast majority of the UK’s inland waterways. Juniper is available to view at Pyrford Marina. Interior Arrangements
Aft Cabin
A standout feature of Juniper is her two separate cabins, offering excellent flexibility for families, guests, or those living aboard. Entering from the stern deck leads directly into the aft cabin, which is currently arranged with a single berth. This versatile space could easily accommodate a double bed or be converted into a home office or hobby area. A range of cupboards houses the boat’s electrical systems, while hanging wardrobes provide useful storage for clothing and personal belongings. A top-loading washing machine is also conveniently located within this cabin.
Bathroom
The bathroom is fitted with a pump-out toilet, a bath, and a Porta Potti is also included as a useful backup toilet.
Master Cabin
Located amidships, the master cabin features a fixed double berth with generous storage beneath, overhead shelving with individual reading lights, a wardrobe, and a hand basin, creating a comfortable and practical sleeping area.
Galley
The well-appointed U-shaped galley is equipped with a four-burner gas hob, separate grill and oven, a 240V fridge/freezer, and a stainless-steel sink with drainer. A generous selection of cupboards and drawers provides excellent storage for kitchen equipment and onboard provisions.
Saloon
Positioned forward of the galley, the saloon offers a comfortable L-shaped sofa, creating an inviting space to relax. A Salamander Hobbit multifuel stove, mounted on a tiled hearth to starboard, provides both warmth and character, while an additional storage cupboard is situated opposite. Glazed forward doors open directly onto the bow well deck, extending the living space and providing the perfect spot to enjoy outdoor dining or watch the waterways go by.
