Calypso is a smartly presented 57' x 12' widebeam with a comfortable layout and a strong maintenance pedigree. Forward is a generous master cabin, followed by a port-side companionway leading to a well-appointed heads/shower room with a pump-out toilet. The bright, inviting saloon benefits from excellent natural light and is offered with quality loose furniture included. Aft, the sociable, walk-through galley features a four-burner hob, oven/grill, microwave, fridge, and washing machine, providing full liveaboard convenience. Steps lead to the enclosed stern deck with stable doors to both port and starboard. The collapsible wooden wheelhouse with mahogany cross beams allows the roof and windows to be lowered for low-bridge and canal navigation ideal for varied cruising grounds.
Propulsion is via an Isuzu 55 hp diesel with Vetus gearbox and a bow thruster for confident close-quarters handling.
Onboard systems include diesel central heating, a multi-fuel stove, immersion heater, lithium leisure battery bank (approx. 7.36 kWh), Victron battery management, an Iconica 3000 W inverter (6 kW peak), Honda EU30iS generator, 240 V shoreline, and a large 1.64 kW solar array (installed 2024) to support efficient off-grid living. Fresh water is supplied by an approx. 500 L main aluminum tank with an additional 150 L flexible reserve tank. Onboard comforts include leather sofas, a Panasonic Viera Smart TV, PS4 with Blu-ray/DVD, Bluetooth speaker, and an EE 4G router for reliable connectivity.
The dinette converts to a double berth, providing flexible sleeping for up to four. Calypso combines solid Collingwood build quality and a thoughtful fit-out by John Leslie Beckett with practical enhancements for year-round living and cruising—offering a turn-key widebeam with strong mechanicals, modern power systems, and an attractive, light interior.
Recent care and upgrades underscore diligent ownership: blacked in 2024 and again following a fresh out-of-water survey in August 2025; last engine service July 2025. The August 2025 survey is reassignable for insurance purposes, and the Boat Safety Certificate is valid until July 2028. A thorough maintenance program has been carried out, with all main recommendations from the survey addressed. All items aboard have been run recently by the vendors and the boat has been in use until Mid August 2025. The vendors confirm that all fixtures and fittings are in full operational state.
