Upton Marina Achieves Clean Marina Accreditation

We’re delighted to share some fantastic news from the banks of the River Severn.

Upton Marina has officially been awarded Clean Marina accreditation by The Yacht Harbour Association, making it the very first marina on the River Severn to achieve this prestigious environmental standard.

As if that wasn’t impressive enough, the marina has also been recognised once again with Four Gold Anchors by The Yacht Harbour Association – a highly respected benchmark that highlights the quality of facilities, customer service and overall marina experience. In short, it means visitors and berth holders can expect a high standard of service alongside a strong commitment to environmental responsibility.

Hot on the heels of Racecourse Marina Windsor earning Clean Marina status in summer 2025 (the first on the River Thames, no less), this latest milestone is another proud moment for everyone at Tingdene Marinas and a great step forward in our sustainability journey.

A Special Presentation

The achievements were officially recognised on Friday 13th March, when Dame Harriet Baldwin MP visited Upton Marina to present both the Clean Marina accreditation and Four Gold Anchors award in person.

It was a wonderful moment for the team to celebrate their hard work together, marking the occasion alongside colleagues and recognising the marina’s commitment to both quality and environmental excellence.

What This Means

Awarded in January 2026, the Clean Marina accreditation recognises marinas that go above and beyond when it comes to protecting our waterways. At Upton Marina, this includes:

• Responsible waste management
• Pollution prevention measures
• Strong emergency preparedness
• Ongoing staff training
• Encouraging eco-friendly boating habits

Combined with maintaining a Four Gold Anchors award for many years, Upton Marina is setting the standard, not just for environmental best practice, but for delivering a quality experience on the water too.
