Tingdene Group Becomes a Suffolk Wildlife Trust Nature Guardian

We are excited to share some fantastic news — Tingdene Group has officially become a Nature Guardian with Suffolk Wildlife Trust, and we are proudly twinned with the incredible Carlton Marshes Nature Reserve!

What is a Nature Guardian?

Nature Guardians are local organisations who are passionate about supporting nature, protecting the environment, and helping to create a more climate-resilient Suffolk.

By joining this initiative, Tingdene Group is not only showing our commitment to nature but also directly helping Suffolk Wildlife Trust to:

  • Maintain nature reserves across Suffolk
  • Restore and protect natural habitats
  • Deliver vital community nature education and engagement

Why Carlton Marshes?

Carlton Marshes is a truly special place — 1,000 acres of wilderness within the Broads National Park, and home to one of the largest populations of wading birds in the East of England.

Perfectly located between our Group sites on the Broads, the reserve can be reached via the Waveney River Centre foot ferry or the scenic footpath from Broadlands Park & Marina and Oulton Broad. For years, Suffolk Wildlife Trust members have enjoyed free use of the foot ferry, and now our partnership takes this relationship even further.

This twinning makes perfect sense. Our holiday parks, marinas, and boat sales all rely on a thriving natural environment — and Carlton Marshes is right on our doorstep. By championing this incredible reserve, we can encourage holiday homeowners, berth holders, holidaymakers, and visitors to discover, enjoy, and support its wild beauty.

How Tingdene is Supporting

We’ve already raised over £900 through raffles at family fun open days at Broadlands & Waveney in 2024 and 2025, and collection tins at each reception continue to gather donations.

Our very own Sophie Green (Marketing Manager) is also running the Ipswich Half Marathon on 21st September to raise even more for Suffolk Wildlife Trust — you can support her here: JustGiving link.

This is just the beginning of a long-standing partnership with benefits to both Tingdene Group and Suffolk Wildlife Trust. Together, we will continue to champion nature, conservation, and the wild beauty that surrounds our parks. It’s also an important addition to our wider sustainability initiative, helping us protect Suffolk’s landscapes and wildlife for the future.

We’d like to thank everyone who has supported this initiative so far. We are proud to be part of something that will protect Suffolk’s wildlife and landscapes for generations to come.
