Boat Details

George is a well-presented 50’ semi-traditional stern narrowboat built in 1990 by R & D Fabrications. Designed in a forward layout, George offers a comfortable and practical interior, ideally suited for day trips, weekends afloat, or extended cruising. Accommodation is arranged with a fixed double berth in the master cabin aft, followed by a bathroom with a Porta Potti toilet, a well-equipped galley, and a Pullman’s style dinette. The saloon, positioned forward, features an L-shaped sofa offering a bright and social space. Propulsion is provided by a reliable Barrus Shire 38hp 4-cylinder diesel engine, fitted new in 2016 and showing just 712 hours of use. Heating and comfort are assured via a multifuel stove and an engine calorifier-fed radiator system, while 240V shore power and 12V electrics provide modern convenience. At 50ft in length, George is perfectly sized for exploring the entire UK inland waterways network. Available for viewings by appointment only, available for purchase from 1st December 2025. Interior Arrangements

Master Cabin

The practical and relaxing master cabin features a fixed double berth with an overhead shelf and individual reading spotlights. Storage is well catered for with under-bed drawers, plus a storage cupboard with hanging space located aft for clothing and personal belongings.

Bathroom

A functional bathroom is fitted with a Porta Potti toilet (with spare cassette), a bath with overhead shower, and a vanity unit with hand basin, providing all the essentials for onboard living.

Galley

Positioned midships, the galley is equipped with a 4-burner gas hob, oven and grill, a 240V fridge freezer, and a stainless-steel sink with draining boards. Ample under-counter cupboards provide storage for cooking equipment and provisions.

Dinette

The Pullman’s style dinette comfortably seats four around a central table, with forward and aft-facing seating. This area converts easily into an additional double berth, with further storage located beneath the seating.

Saloon

Forward of the dinette, the saloon offers direct access onto the bow well deck. An L-shaped built-in sofa provides seating for four and also converts into an additional double berth when required, with storage beneath. A port-side corner cabinet adds further stowage, while a multifuel stove, mounted on a tiled hearth to starboard, ensures warmth and comfort.
