Boat Details

‘That Wey’ is a spacious 60ft two cabin Narrowboat built by Arcrite Fabrications, commissioned in 1986 and launched in 1988. Designed in a forward layout, this well-proportioned vessel offers generous accommodation, making her an excellent choice for liveaboard use or extended leisure cruising. The interior is arranged with a double cabin aft, followed by a bathroom fitted with a Thetford cassette toilet. Forward of this is a second double cabin, then a practical U-shaped galley. The open-plan saloon is found forward and offers ample space for free-standing furniture, with direct access onto the bow well deck, ideal for relaxing and entertaining. Propulsion is provided by a Barrus Shire 40hp three-cylinder diesel engine. Cabin heating is supplied via an Alde gas-powered central heating system, complemented by a multifuel stove in the saloon. Hot water is delivered through the central heating system and engine calorifier. Both 12V and 240V electrical systems are installed for modern onboard convenience. Interior Arrangements

First Double Cabin (Aft)

Entering from the traditional-style stern, the aft cabin features a comfortable fixed ottoman-style double berth. Storage is provided by overhead cupboards both forward and aft, complemented by individual reading spotlights to create a practical and relaxing sleeping space.

Bathroom

A surprisingly spacious and contemporary bathroom is fitted with a Thetford electric-flush cassette toilet, a hand basin set within a vanity unit with single-lever stainless-steel mixer tap, and two mirrored storage cabinets. Opposite is a generously sized shower cubicle with glass screen, providing excellent onboard comfort.

Second Double Cabin

A great feature of this 60ft Narrowboat is the second double cabin, located midships. This cabin also benefits from a fixed ottoman-style double berth with overhead cupboards both forward and aft, along with individual reading spotlights, offering excellent accommodation flexibility for family or guests.

Galley

The U-shaped galley is well equipped with a surface-mounted Country Leisure 9 Series four-burner gas hob, with a built-in Belling gas grill and oven beneath. Additional features include a stainless-steel kitchen sink with draining board and single-lever mixer tap, a 12V fridge with ice box, and good-sized storage cupboards. A port side hatch allows plenty of natural light and ventilation while cooking.

Saloon

Forward, the saloon offers direct access onto a generously sized bow well deck with integral lockers, ideal for storage or seating while enjoying the surroundings and is fitted with a full cratch board and cover. The open-plan arrangement provides ample space for free-standing furniture such as armchairs or a sofa bed. A multifuel stove mounted on a tiled hearth is positioned to port, with a corner storage unit with a TV opposite. Under-gunnel shelving provides additional practical storage.
